Profile Bio
I am an award winning writer of 27 plays largely about health and social issues but some comedy too. I was the Artistic Director of the famous New End Theatre, Hampstead where I produced more than 200 new plays and musicals. I was also Artistic Director of the Shaw Theatre, London where I worked with many celebrities including Dione Warwick, Elaine Stritch, Eartha Kitt, Shirley Bassey, Judi Dench. I can recount lots of hilarious stories about the celebrities I have worked with - ‘Backstage with the Stars’ or ‘Trials and Tribulations of a Theatre Producer’. Also how theatre works ‘Theatre - Art or Commerce’. I have been the guest speaker on many cruise ships too. I do another talk ‘Write Now’ how to get started writing your own story, or a play or a biography.
Talk Description
Trials and Tribulations of a Theatre Producer
What is it really like working with celebrities. Brian has worked with numerous celebrities - having produced more than 200 plays and devising many shows. The celebrities include Eartha Kitt, Dionne Warwick, Gloria Gaynor, Chita Rivera, Elaine Stritch, Lionel Blair and many, many more. Brian takes you backstage with the stars and shares memorable moments and events - what happened when Shirley Bassey wanted to watch Eartha Kitt in concert and the show was sold out! Brian recounts numerous stories - some with pathos, some with humour but always with a twinkle in his eye.
